“We have to identify and name our shame. We have to walk out of secrecy and into vulnerability. We have to speak out about those things that have kept us silenced. And we have to walk away from the judgment of others and into the empathetic arms of those who will embrace us for all that we are.”

— Amber Cantorna, Unashamed: A Coming Out Guide for LGBTQ Christians

Therapy

You might be thinking that therapy is an intimidating endeavor - and that’s alright! It’s perfectly fine to start wherever you are right now. Listed below are examples of issues we work with, but by no means comprehensive.

Whether you are unsure of where to begin, have a goal in mind, or have questions, we would love to hear from you and see how we can help.

Areas of Focus:

  • Anxiety - understanding the narratives and getting unstuck from tension and fear

  • Codependency - learning and implementing healthy dynamics within relationships

  • Depression - moving out of stagnation, low mood, and isolation

  • Life transitions - navigating through major life events such as a death, change in employment, or a new marriage

  • Religious trauma - processing rejection and stigma from church/religious communities, unlearning harmful belief systems

  • Self-esteem - changing restrictive internal narratives and feeling more comfortable with yourself

  • Stress management - identifying and integrating healthy skills

Have an issue you want to work on that isn’t listed? Contact us for a free consultation to see if we would be a good fit working together.

Gender Affirming Medical Treatment Letters

A person's coming out may include medically transitioning, which can involve (but not limited to) facial surgery, top surgery, and/or bottom surgery.

Someone does not need to experience gender dysphoria to want or benefit from gender affirming medical treatment. They do not have to identify as a trans man or trans woman. And yet, it is common that at least one letter from a mental health professional is required, showing "readiness" or "proof" that the person is ready for gender affirming medical treatment.

Our goal is to reduce gatekeeping practices by providing a same-day letter for those who are California residents. You are not required to start therapy services or need to prove that you are trans enough to us.
